The Global Leaders Institute equips arts professionals to grow creative enterprises that impact communities - each year admitting a select cohort of leaders to their MBA in Arts Innovation. I was brought in to refine and extend the institute's visual identity: designing a new logo, logo animations, motion graphics, social media concepts, a website homepage concept, and a suite of print materials including visiting cards, letterheads, and banners.

The Challenge
The Challenge
The institute had a working identity - a colour scheme, typography, and existing logo - but it lacked the visual sophistication that its audience expected. Arts professionals have a trained eye; they notice when a brand's design doesn't match the calibre of what it represents. The goal was to elevate the institute's visual presence to a level consistent with the excellence it promises its students, without erasing the equity already built into the existing brand.

The Approach
The Approach
Finding the right conceptual anchor for the motion identity was the critical creative decision. Through a moodboard process, I arrived at the image of an orchestra conductor - the way a conductor's hand moves through the air is simultaneously precise and expressive, authoritative and collaborative, which maps exactly onto what the institute stands for. I translated that flowing, intentional motion into a 2D animation that became the backbone of both the logo animation and the broader brand motion system. An earlier, more complex iteration of the animation was refined for the logo itself but repurposed effectively in secondary brand communications - a good example of creative economy where nothing goes to waste.

The Result
The Result
The refreshed identity was delivered across motion and print: logo animation, brand motion graphics, social media post concepts, a website homepage design, and print collateral. The client was highly satisfied with the outcome. The institute's visual brand system improved significantly in coherence and quality - bringing the design in line with the ambition and reputation of the programme itself.
